While a peace agreement was signed in April 2002 and may have ended the 25-year-old civil war, Angola is still unsuitable for leisure travel.
The war has left scars, millions of people displaced, homeless, maimed, orphaned, starving and diseased. This means no infrastructure, poor roads, and up to 11 million landmines
