Buffalo Soldiers __ Here you will find history and lore of the Famous Buffalo Soldiers of the American West. "The Plains Indians began to call the Black cavalrymen 'Buffalo Soldiers' and the troopers accepted the title and wore it proudly. To be associated with the fighting spirit of the Indian's sacred buffalo was a measure of respect." You will also find a list of Medal of Honor recipients from the 9th and 10th Calvary Units. - From zianet.com - http://www.zianet.com/wblase/courier/buffalo.htm

Students, teachers, researchers or anybody else needing printing, whether flyers, cards, brochures, magazines, catalogs, newspapers, table top books, or much of anything else, from my own personal experience I highly recommend Southwest Offset Printing.  If they can't do it, they probably know somebody who can.

Buffalo Soldiers and Indian Wars __ "In every major war, throughout the history of the United States, from the American Revolution through the Indian Wars, Native-Americans and African-Americans have fought with and against each other. This scenario prevailed during the Civil War. Some tribes fought for the South, such as the Cherokees while others assisted the North like the Seminoles." Here you will find history, lore, first hand accounts and much more. - illustrated - From buffalosoldier.net - http://www.buffalosoldier.net/

Buffalo Soldiers on the Western Frontier __ A brief overview of the Buffalo Soldiers, their history and duties. - From coax.net - http://www.coax.net/people/lwf/buffpage.htm

Buffalo Soldiers on the Western Frontier __ "Over 180,000 African-Americans served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Of these, more than 33,000 died. After the war, the future of African-Americans in the U.S. Army was in doubt. In July1866, however, Congress passed legislation establishing two cavalry and four infantry regiments (later consolidated to two) whose enlisted composition was to be made up of African-Americans. The majority of the new recruits had served in all Black units during the war. The mounted regiments were the 9th and 10th Cavalries, soon nicknamed Buffalo Soldiers by the Cheyenne and Comanche. Until the early 1890s they constituted 20 percent of all cavalry forces on the American frontier."
